How to choose your bet

You can choose any type of bet, or a combination of all them if you prefer.

The main and only rule is to not exceed the maximum amount of bet.

In most online roulettes the maximum bet is £500, but it can be even higher.

Once all players have placed their bets, the wheel only will decide the game outcome.

The roulette wheel consists of a spinning disk with numbered pockets. Its colours and values are the same ones shown on the table mat.

After announcing the well known “rien ne va plus” to stop the bets, the croupier spins the wheel and then throws the ball.

At this point the winning number will be announced once the ball has fallen into one of the wheel pockets.

Types of Roulette

Successful games usually have different versions. Roulette is no exception as it was invented more than 200 years ago.

The most popular version still is the French one. But let’s take a look at the others.

French Roulette

French Roulette is the most traditional one, as France is the country where this game emerged for the first time.

In French roulette numbers go from 0 to 36 and are located in alternated red and black pockets, with the exception of 0 which is in a green compartment.

The main peculiarity of French roulette actually lies in the role the 0 has, as it increases the winning odds if compared to any other versions. If 0 comes up, the player can decide to put aside his simple bets leaving them to the next round.

American Roulette

American roulette differs from the traditional one as it has an extra zero on the table mat.

Instead of having just the 0, in American roulette there is also a 00.

This characteristic reduces the winning chances, which is why most players consider this type of roulette less appealing if compared to the other versions.

European Roulette

In European roulette, table mat and numbers are the same as in the French roulette.

The main difference lies again in the role the 0 has. If 0 comes up, the player cannot hold his bet and play it on the next round. In this version the player can only keep half of the chips he played on 0, while the rest is taken by the Bank.

Double Ball Roulette

As the name suggests, Double Ball Roulette differs from all other versions because of one significant characteristic: two balls are thrown on the spinning disk instead of one.

In this version, if you place an inside bet you can win only if one of the two balls falls into the selected pocket. However, if you decide to place an outside bet, both balls have to win. If you decide to go for a Double Ball Jackpot bet, both balls have to fall in just one selected pocket.

Live Roulette

Live Roulette can be considered a more modern version of the game. Although rules and game dynamics do not change, the way you experience it is different. Roulette Live is the virtual version of the classic one.

If you play roulette in a gaming room you play against a computer. If you decide to play online things are different.

In the first case, the croupier and all participants simultaneously play live with you. If you consider the game room atmosphere, with its lights, sounds and the high graphic definition of the game, you can imagine how real your gaming experience feels.

On the other hand, when you play virtual live roulette you can decide when to throw the ball and you can take your time to better manage your betting decisions. Most of the times it is possible to socialize with the other players or with the croupier as well, same as if you were in a real gaming room.

Roulette winning strategies

Over the years, like in many other games, several roulette strategies have been developed from the fans of this genre. These techniques are not infallible, but they can increase your winning chances.

One of them is the so-called Martingala. This strategy consists in doubling your bet after you lose. In this way you can double all bets you previously lost, until you win. This method is highly recommended if you have a big budget.

Paroli betting strategy instead works the other way around. In this case the player doubles his bet after he wins.

If you decide to play the D’Alembert strategy, you bet on one number only. With this method your winning chances are reduced, but if the number you placed your bet on comes up, the payout can be really high.

Another option you may consider is just choosing your preferred strategy throughout the round, or even to not adopt any strategies at all and just follow your gut.
